Introducing the Altis Bocce Battle

We came, we saw, we rolled and we conquered the first-ever Altis Bocce Battle! In honour of our co-founder, the late Toni Guimaraes, and his support for Christie Lake Kids (CLK), we hosted his favourite game (after ice hockey that is) and brought the business community together for the next generation of leaders.

On Tuesday, September 19^th, 2023, companies battled it out on the bocce court raising a total of $45,250 for CLK, which provides disadvantaged youth with the confidence and skills they need to succeed in life.

We thank everyone who showed up to support this event—friends, business leaders and colleagues, whether as a competitor, organizer, volunteer or vendor of delicious local fare. We also offer our hearty congrats to Luigi Aiello, one of Toni’s dearest friends, and his LA Ottawa Group team from Royal LePage Team Realty, Brokerage on winning the “very prestigious” Altis Bocce Cup!

More on Toni G & CLK

Our co-founder was a CLK camper himself. As newcomers from Portugal, Toni’s family faced many challenges – and he was fortunate to be invited to Christie Lake Kids Camp for many years in a row, at no cost. CLK invested in him, and he consistently gave back. Toni passed away in 2016 at 51 years old after an arduous battle with advanced prostate cancer. He’d be thrilled to see us play his game, and raise money for his cause.

2023 Bocce Battle Details

• DATE: Tuesday, September 19, 2023 (rain date is Thursday, September 21)
• LOCATION: Mooney’s Bay (2960 Riverside Drive)
• TEAMS: We’re inviting 32 teams of FOUR (each team is guaranteed 3 games)
• COST PER TEAM: $2,000 -- all registration fees are direct donations, meaning you’ll receive a charitable receipt (the pre-battle lunch is on us!)
• SCHEDULE:
  • 11:00 am: Registration opens
  • 11:30 pm: Lunch begins
  • 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm:  Bocce Ball Battle Tournament (entertainment between games is provided)
  • 4:00 pm: We present the Bocce Cup‍
